Linux is using everywhere and continue to expand wider in the future. Especially for embedded Linux, there are many possible place to adopt Linux. That is really great but what is the issue for the next step? This presentation will discuss the current situation around LTSI(Long Term Support Initiative) what features are including by whom and why. Also, We will discuss future of Embedded Linux about its direction and requirements from the viewpoint of the industries.

Hisao Munakata is a lead of Open Source Development center at Renesas Electronics, and major contributor for the LTSI and other LF activity. He did various presentation, panel and BoF session at previous LF and other Linux related events.
He has a senior role of partner relationship for Open Source as a member of Open Source Promotion Center of NEC. He is working for OpenStack since 2011. He is also on the Board of Directors of Linux Foundation and has over a decade of activity for the Linux community. He has advocated for Open Source developers from Japan and Asia for many years.
